How Invisible Light Network Incorporated Tech Into Swag

Who knew your voice could be a fashion statement? Invisible Light Network, a Brooklyn-based creative studio, dreamed up a wristband designed using attendees’ voice frequencies for Oracle’s OpenWorld and JavaOne events last October. More than 1,500 attendees stopped by tents set up outside San Francisco’s Moscone Center to record their voiceprints into a mic that used an iOS app specific to the event. From there, a generative code transformed the human sound waves—some sang, others told jokes—into unique designs that were laser-cut into leather bracelets on-site. The pieces (shown above) were strapped onto attendee wrists, they served as tangible takeaways of the technology.
