Jones’ hospitality career began as a summer housekeeping job in high school, which eventually led her to Nashville where she spent eight years working in catering, sales and revenue management. Jones has held director of sales positions with John Q. Hammons Hotels and Marcus Hotels & Resorts under both Marriott and Starwood brands. She views her current job at the CVB as matchmaking—pairing up meeting professionals with
available venues.

What have you learned about yourself and your personal leadership style?
Individuals are just that… individuals. You can’t expect two people to manage their workload in the same way. I’ve learned it is OK to not have an answer as long as you are willing to find the solution. People desire success. Give them the right tools and they will work hard to succeed.
