Marisa L. GaggiMarisa L. Gaggi
30, Meeting and Events Manager
Society of Wine Educators, Washington, D.C.

What she does: Gaggi plans the society’s annual conference and two mini conferences.

What I really do: “I travel all over the country and taste a variety of wines and spirits while planning fun, educational events.”

How I got here: “In college, I was greatly involved in planning philanthropic and social events for my sorority and other campus organizations. After graduating, I took an event planning position at a science education-focused nonprofit, and I’ve been working in the meetings and events industry ever since.”

Next-level idea: Gaggi has assisted in the development of two new annual programs starting in 2016: a spirits-focused mini conference and a wine-focused mini conference. SWE’s inaugural spirits mini conference in April focused on the bourbon scene in Louisville, Kentucky.
