38, Director of Conference and Meetings
National Association for College Admission Counseling, Arlington, Va.

What she does: Burke directs and oversees a full suite of management services for a 7,500-person national conference, seven board meetings, 12 national committee meetings, two leadership meetings, two training meetings and others annually.

How I got here: “After graduating from James Madison University with a degree in media arts and design, I found a position as a graphic designer/meetings assistant.
