The tourism bug first bit Byrd when she served on the Tompkins County (New York) CVB board, and she’s been showing off the places she’s called home ever since. This includes serving as the first chair of the tourism committee for the Cherokee County (South Carolina) Chamber, serving on the board for Upstate South Carolina USA (promoting the Upstate to the U.K. and Germany) and serving on the board of Discovery Upcountry SC. Byrd has worked her dream job sharing the revolutionary story of Spartanburg since 2011 and believes Spartanburg offers something for everyone.

Career Accomplishments
Byrd has an extensive background in tourism marketing that includes more than 20 years in the shopping center industry. Since 2011 she has served as sales manager for the Spartanburg CVB, where she promotes and sells Spartanburg County as a convention and meeting destination for a variety of organizations. In addition to her extensive board service, Byrd has also recently received a Tourism Marketing Professional certification from the Southeast Tourism Society’s Marketing College.
