How I got here: I’ve always had the “coordinator of chaos” gene that most event professionals recognize in themselves, and so when the opportunity arose to work as an event/activity coordinator for a local DMC, I dove in head first. Because of my extensive administrative background, I easily parlayed that into a full-time sales and ops coordinator position. From there, I moved into conference coordination at a local conference center before transitioning into my current role as an account manager.

Greatest career accomplishment: Earning both my CMP and DMCP certifications in the same year was no small feat and something I’m very proud of. I’m also honored to have played an integral part in three events that each won an ADMEI achievement award.

Impressive stats: Through market analysis and vendor negotiations, I’ve been able to restructure our costing and increase our average program margin by 15 percent while still providing the same value to our clients.

What I am working on now: I’m developing a comprehensive menu of CSR program options for my destination through collaboration with a variety of local nonprofit organizations. Not only will I be able to offer businesses an option to contribute directly to the needs of the Reno-Tahoe community during their meeting, but I’ll be able to market specific needs of those NPOs to clients that they would not have otherwise had access to.

What I do outside of work: I currently sit on the hospitality and tourism advisory board for the Truckee Meadows Community College and the Global Education Committee for ADMEI. When I’m not working, I’m out enjoying the beauty of Lake Tahoe trails and waterways.
