Your favorite venues in the central U.S. represent some of the best facilities in the country. Congratulations to all involved for ensuring the events business continues to grow. Below, see what you and your peers selected as prime locations to do business.

Convention Centers

Fort Worth Convention Center in Texas has it all, according to Becky Rowbotham, president of Hunt Conference Group, Inc. She says there is a mix of “great location, exceptional staff and a lot of meeting space.”

KI Convention Center in Green Bay “combines small town affordability with the big city amenities groups love,” says Denise Humphrey, senior destination sales manager for the Greater Green Bay CVB. Patti Drabes, the CVB’s group services manager, raves about the facility’s food.

Branson Convention Center in Missouri gets major points for its location on Branson Landing nearby Hilton hotels. Wendy White, director of sales of Hiltons of Branson adds the staff provides “service in spades.”

Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis hosts major conferences every year and it’s easy to see why. Brandi Ashlock, Market Senior Sales Manager for Marriott IndyPlace notes the center’s location makes it accessible to many Indianapolis hotels.

Hotels

Chicago McCormick Place is a favorite of Leslie Dreiske, CMP, meetings manager at the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Omni Fort Worth is a go-to for Rowbotham because of its downtown location across the street from the convention center.

Radisson Hotel and Conference Center, Hyatt Regency Green Bay and Lodge Kohler are recommended venues from the Green Bay CVB.

Marriott Marquis Houston and the legendary Peabody in Memphis are perennial favorites of Brenda Bell, iGO’s meetings and events director.

JW Marriott Indianapolis and Indianapolis Marriott Downtown are two examples Ashlock likes to cite when preaching about Indianapolis as a convention city.

Thunder Bay Resort in Hilman, Mich., has elk viewings to go with its beautiful location, remarks Larry Plachno, president of Bus Bash, Inc.
