Tech Tool to Know: Facebook Canvas

By Natalie Dupuis, July 21, 2016

Turn followers into attendees. Facebook is aiming to make ad building a little easier—and a lot more engaging—for businesses and groups with the launch of its new Facebook Canvas platform, which gives companies the opportunity to create interactive brand experiences optimized for mobile. Launched this spring, the tool (part of Facebook for Business) helps build full-screen, interactive advertisements that show up in user newsfeeds as normal-size posts. If the user taps on the ad, it will open into a full-screen experience for him or her to explore. Brands can create a single-page ad or one with multiple pages, similar to Snapchat’s Discover feature.

Planners, try using Canvas’ story feature during the week you announce your speaker lineup and devote a page to each speaker’s story and bio, and then one final page linked to registration. The creative specs are available on canvas.facebook.com including options to add video, full-screen tilt-to-pan images and buttons to off-site links.
