City Spotlight: San Antonio

Case Study

Electrical Apparatus Service Association brought 2,600 business owners and managers in the electromechanical industry to San Antonio for three days in June 2015. Dale Shuter, EASA’s meetings and expositions manager, says the city was attractive because the three hotels occupied by the group (Grand Hyatt, Marriott Riverwalk and Hilton Palacio del Rio) were within a block of the convention center, where education sessions and exhibits took place. Downtime was filled with activities including a homes tour in the King William Historic District; an outing to four of the missions; and a cooking class with local chef Blanca Aldaco at her restaurant, Aldaco’s, where guests learned to craft enchiladas and margaritas.
