6 Reasons to Meet in Wisconsin Dells (That Aren’t Waterparks)

The Wisconsin Dells may be the “Water Park Capital of the World,” but don’t get bleary-eyed over the water slides.

“The Wisconsin Dells provides a unique environment for collaboration,” says Tifani Jones, director of sales at Wisconsin Dells Visitor & Convention Bureau. “People have been gathering at this spot along the Wisconsin River to do business for more than 150 years. Many companies appreciate the opportunity to tie an event into a family vacation, and some groups rent vacation homes to help build teamwork.”

Take a second look at the Wisconsin Dells:

> Recently opened is the new Hampton Inn & Suites, which has 100 rooms and free hot breakfast. A 350-sq.-ft. breakfast breakout room accommodates up to 25.

> Expanding its wellness footprint, Sundara Inn & Spa will add more than 32,000 square feet to its facilities to better accommodate meetings and small group bookings. New dedicated retreat space, a demonstration kitchen, enhanced wellness programming and outdoor areas with fire pits are coming in spring 2018.

> In fall 2019, the Kalahari Resort in the Dells will complete the addition of 130,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, including a 56,000-sq.-ft. ballroom, in its convention center. More meeting rooms, recharge lounges and outdoor patios round out the additions.

> Conduct business with a “walking meeting” along the Scenic River Walk, which has been expanded to include 10 new museum-quality historic markers chronicling the story of the Dells.

> A new party room at Baraboo Bluff Winery is available for events on weekends, accommodating up to 40 guests. A wine-tasting experience can include a full case of wine, and outside catering is allowed.

> Open year-round, The Swan Barn Door offers a rustic, elegant venue with about 11,500 square feet of event space. It can hold up to 300 guests for a catered dinner.
